External Account Manager – Driving Retail Sales Growth
This role is all about building relationships and driving revenue within the Government Sector. You’ll be the face of the company for Government clients, responsible for expanding the customer base and exceeding expectations. You must have minimum 3 years of experience in distribution selling Enterprise Solutions (Cloud, Cyber Security, Servers, Storage, Networking) and Infrastructure (cabling, racks & cabinets) with a proven track record of sales success in the ICT Distribution industry. Experience in account management with both commercial and retail customers, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs. Expertise in identifying sales opportunities, developing tailored solutions, and closing deals. Matric with Mathematics, with a tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or IT being advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Targets: Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets, ensuring continuous growth for the business.
- Client Acquisition: Develop and nurture relationships with new retail clients, expanding the company’s reach within the market.
- Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through regular visits and interactions, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales plans for each account, identifying opportunities and tailoring solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Sales Process: Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate client databases and forecasts, providing valuable insights for future planning.
- Product Expertise: Deliver compelling product presentations and entertain clients, showcasing the value of the company’s offerings.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify new sales opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies to capitalize on emerging trends.
- Sales Administration: Compile quotations, follow up on leads, attend product training, and manage relevant sales documentation.
- Order Management: Update backorders and orders received daily, ensuring accurate tracking and timely fulfilment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in distribution, with a proven track record of sales success in the ICT Distribution industry selling Enterprise Solutions (Cloud, Cyber Security, Servers, Storage, Networking) and Infrastructure (cabling, racks & cabinets).
- Client Focus: Experience in account management with both commercial and retail customers, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs.
- Sales Skills: Expertise in identifying sales opportunities, developing tailored solutions, and closing deals.
- Education: Matric with Mathematics, with a tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or IT being advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Good technical knowledge on enterprise solutions to advise resellers and end-customers and hold informed discussions. Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and analyse reports.
