Summary
This is a senior HR business partnering role for an experienced people professional who wants to work closely with leadership, influence business decisions, and help build a strong, high-performing culture.
You will partner with executives and line managers to turn business strategy into practical people plans that support growth, performance, talent development, and long-term organisational success. This role is ideal for someone who can operate with confidence at strategic level while still ensuring sound HR delivery, governance, and employee relations support across the business.
Responsibilities
- Partner with executives and business leaders to align HR strategy with business goals.
- Translate organisational priorities into practical people, culture, and talent initiatives.
- Provide input into workforce planning, organisational design, leadership capability, and business planning.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on structure, performance, engagement, culture, and people risk.
- Lead talent management practices, including succession planning, leadership development, performance management, and critical skills planning.
- Help build strong talent pipelines for key roles and future business growth.
- Drive organisational development, culture, and change initiatives.
- Support transformation, business growth, and the adoption of new ways of working.
- Coach managers on people leadership, employee relations, performance conversations, and engagement.
- Ensure people practices are fair, consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with business needs.
- Use people data, workforce insights, and key HR metrics to support decision-making.
- Monitor people trends and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
- Work closely with HR specialists to ensure effective HR service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide practical, commercially sound HR guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification in HR, Organisational Development, or Leadership would be advantageous.
- Professional HR accreditation such as SABPP, SHRM, or equivalent would be preferred.
- 8 to 10 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- At least 4 to 5 years’ experience in a senior HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or strategic HR role.
- Proven experience supporting senior leadership teams.
- Strong background in organisational change, performance management, and talent management.
- Experience in a fast-growing, complex, or transformation-focused organisation would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of South African labour law is essential.
- Ability to influence, coach, challenge, and guide leaders with confidence and credibility.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, sound judgement, and the ability to balance people needs with business priorities.
