The role
This is not a “make the website look better” role.
Our client is rebuilding and refining a premium digital travel platform where design, content, search behaviour, AI, conversion and human decision-making all meet.
They need a senior UX professional who can simplify complex journeys, improve enquiry quality, and design digital experiences that feel polished, trusted and easy to use.
The platform is content-rich, commercially important and aimed at a premium international audience. The right person will understand that great UX is not only about screens. It is about behaviour, trust, clarity, intent and what makes someone take the next step.
You will work closely with marketing, SEO, brand, data and development teams to shape journeys that turn curiosity into high-quality enquiries.
This role suits someone who enjoys the thinking behind the interface as much as the interface itself.
What you will be doing
- Own and improve the user experience across a premium digital travel platform
- Design clear, intuitive and conversion-focused user journeys
- Map and simplify complex paths across content-heavy pages, destination information, product pages and enquiry flows
- Conduct user research, review behavioural data and identify where users drop off, hesitate or get stuck
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and high-quality UX solutions in Figma
- Use testing, data and feedback to improve navigation, engagement and enquiry conversion
- Work with SEO and content teams to structure information in a way that supports both users and modern search behaviour
- Help shape digital journeys for an AI-influenced search world, including how users find, compare and trust information
- Collaborate with developers to ensure UX decisions are practical, scalable and well implemented
- Partner with brand and marketing teams to make sure the experience reflects a premium, high-trust customer journey
- Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system across the platform
- Bring strong UX thinking into cross-functional conversations and challenge unclear, cluttered or low-converting journeys
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a Senior UX Designer, UX Architect, Product Designer or similar
- A strong portfolio showing real website, platform or product design work
- Clear examples of how your UX work improved user journeys, conversion, lead generation or business outcomes
- Strong Figma skills, including prototyping, wireframing and user flow design
- Experience working on conversion-focused websites, digital platforms, e-commerce, lead generation or content-heavy environments
- Good understanding of user research, usability testing and data-led design decisions
- Ability to balance user needs, commercial goals and brand expectations
- Confidence working with developers, marketers, SEO specialists, data teams and brand stakeholders
- Solid AI literacy, including an understanding of how AI tools and changing search behaviour are influencing digital journeys
- A practical, accountable approach to design decisions
- South African citizenship
