Summary
An excellent opportunity for a Senior SAP FI/CO specialist to take ownership of a critical SAP environment within a large, established business.
 
This role has opened due to an internal promotion, which reflects the growth opportunities available in the team. You will join an experienced SAP function with a blend of long-standing specialists and newer team members, supporting Finance, Controlling, Procure to Pay, Plant Maintenance and related SAP applications.
 
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex SAP issues, working closely with business stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across finance and costing processes.

Responsibilities
    • Manage customer satisfaction across the SAP Finance and Costing support environment.
    • Act as the SAP subject matter expert for Finance, Controlling, Procure to Pay, Plant Maintenance and related applications.
    • Support cross-module integration between SAP FI, CO, PP, PP-PI and other business systems.
    • Manage service levels and ensure agreed support standards are met.
    • Prepare high-level specifications for technical enhancements and new developments.
    • Manage maintenance and development requests from investigation through to implementation.
    • Support the full change cycle, including exploration, business case input, approval, planning, design, configuration, testing and go-live.
    • Communicate system changes clearly to users and stakeholders.
    • Ensure adherence to internal standards, governance and SAP best practice.
    • Drive continuous improvement across support processes, turnaround times and system efficiency.
    • Maintain and contribute to a solution database to improve future support resolution.
    • Liaise with third-party suppliers and manage quotation and approval processes.
    • Participate in the introduction of new technologies and SAP-related improvements.
    • Take part in specialist forums, expert groups and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
    • Transfer knowledge to users, team members and business stakeholders.
 
Requirements
    • B-Degree in Finance, IT or a related field, or an equivalent NQF 6 qualification with relevant work experience.
    • SAP certification in Finance and/or Controlling would be advantageous.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant business process environment such as Finance, Controlling, Treasury or Asset Management.
    • At least 8 years’ experience in an SAP Finance and Controlling ERP environment.
    • Strong SAP configuration and implementation experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of SAP FI and CO integration with SAP Production Planning and PP-PI.
    • Knowledge of Costing and Budgeting principles, financial systems and balance sheet optimisation.
    • Experience with Material Ledger, New GL, Treasury and Profitability Analysis would be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of ReadSoft integration to SAP and Global Spreadsheet Server would be advantageous.
    • Hands-on experience transacting in SAP within relevant modules.
    • Strong application demand management skills.
    • Solid business knowledge and the ability to translate business needs into SAP solutions.
