This role offers broad exposure across Operational Risk, Country Risk, Business Continuity Management and enterprise risk initiatives within an international banking environment. Candidates with Mandarin language skills will have a distinct advantage, as the role involves regular engagement within a global banking network.
What you’ll be doing
As part of a collaborative Risk Management team, you’ll help strengthen the bank’s risk culture while supporting strategic and regulatory priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management of Operational Risk, Country Risk and Business Continuity across the organisation.
- Monitoring risk exposures and recommending practical control improvements.

- Coordinating Risk Committee activities, including meeting preparation, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Preparing reports and presentations for internal governance forums and regulatory stakeholders.
- Working closely with business units to promote a strong and proactive risk culture.
- Providing support across liquidity and credit risk activities when required.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be an analytical banking professional with a solid understanding of enterprise risk and the regulatory environment in which financial institutions operate.
You’ll bring:
- A degree in Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
- Around five years’ experience within a commercial bank, ideally supporting corporate and institutional banking operations.
- Strong knowledge of Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk and enterprise risk management principles.
- Practical experience working within Basel III and banking regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel capability.
- Strong report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
- A well-organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent English is essential. Mandarin (Chinese) language skills are a significant advantage and will be highly valued.
A postgraduate qualification such as an Honours degree, Master’s degree or MBA will be advantageous.
Mandarin language proficiency will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Who you’ll be
You’re naturally analytical, detail-oriented and curious. You enjoy understanding how organisations manage risk and are motivated by finding practical solutions that strengthen governance and improve business resilience.
You build strong working relationships across the business, communicate confidently with stakeholders at different levels and thrive in an environment where accuracy, sound judgement and collaboration are valued.
You’ll enjoy working in a multicultural environment and be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across different regions and functions. If you can communicate in Mandarin, you’ll have the opportunity to build even stronger relationships across the wider organisation and add further value to the business.
