Salary; R40 000 to R55 000 pm
Area: Hybrid in Century City
Type: Contract | 12 months
 
We are looking for an experienced Manual QA Engineer who knows how to spot issues early, test with purpose, and help ship reliable products. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys asking the right questions, working closely with delivery teams, and making sure quality is built into every stage of the process. You will join a fast-moving business in the iGaming space, working across web and mobile products with tools such as Jira, Postman, SQL, TestRail or Zephyr.
 
Responsibilities
    • Review business and functional requirements and turn them into clear, practical test scenarios
    • Create strong manual test cases using sound test design techniques
    • Plan testing for sprints and releases with a focus on risk and impact
    • Flag unclear requirements, missing detail, and potential issues early
    • Run functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web and mobile platforms
    • Test API integrations using Postman or similar tools
    • Validate data using SQL where needed
    • Check cross-browser and cross-device behaviour
    • Record clear test evidence and provide accurate feedback on quality
    • Log detailed, repeatable defects in Jira or a similar tool
    • Support defect triage, impact assessment, retesting, and closure
    • Take part in sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives
    • Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders
    • Help shape acceptance criteria and support a strong Definition of Done
    • Contribute to better QA processes, standards, and documentation
 
Requirements
    • 4 to 6 years of hands-on software testing experience with a strong manual testing focus
    • Strong test case design skills, including boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and negative testing
    • Good understanding of Agile delivery and the software development lifecycle
    • Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking tools
    • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
    • Experience testing APIs using Postman or equivalent
    • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation
    • Strong analytical thinking and root cause analysis skills
    • Able to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
    • Clear written and verbal communication
    • Strong attention to detail and well-structured documentation skills
Highly Preferred
    • Experience in the iGaming industry
    • ISTQB Foundation or higher
    • Experience testing transactional or high-availability systems
    • Experience with browser compatibility and usability testing
    • Exposure to Git or other version control tools
Nice to Have
    • Exposure to test automation frameworks
    • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release processes
    • Basic understanding of performance or security testing
