Salary: Up to R80 000 CTC per month

The Opportunity

Are you a Full Stack Developer who enjoys building practical solutions, taking ownership of your work and using AI to become a more effective engineer?

Our client is a growing South African technology company operating at the intersection of fintech and health-tech, developing digital solutions that simplify financial and administrative processes for medical professionals.

They’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a small, hands-on engineering team where you’ll work across backend development, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure and third-party integrations.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be working on one small piece of a much larger system. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute from initial design through to production, with the freedom to make technical decisions and see the results of your work.

Tech Stack: C#, .NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, Angular Material, Ionic, SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using C# and .NET Core.

  • Build responsive, user-friendly web applications using Angular, TypeScript and Angular Material.

  • Develop and maintain mobile-friendly applications using Ionic.

  • Design and optimise SQL Server databases, ensuring performance, reliability and data integrity.

  • Build and maintain background services, automated processes and scheduled tasks.

  • Deploy and support applications on Microsoft Azure, including CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

  • Integrate applications with external APIs, payment platforms, communication services and healthcare systems.

  • Troubleshoot, monitor and improve application performance using tools such as Application Insights.

  • Work closely with product teams and business stakeholders to turn requirements into working software.

  • Take ownership of development tasks from planning and implementation through to testing and production.

AI-Driven Development

Practical experience using AI in software development is essential for this role.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Use AI coding assistants and development tools to improve productivity, code quality and problem-solving.

  • Demonstrate how you’ve applied AI tools in real development projects.

  • Evaluate, test and refine AI-generated code rather than accepting outputs without question.

  • Identify opportunities to introduce AI-assisted functionality into existing or new products.

  • Stay informed about developments in AI tooling and how they can improve engineering workflows.

We’re looking for someone who understands both the value and limitations of AI and knows when human engineering judgement matters most.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 4 years’ professional software development experience.

  • Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET Core.

  • Solid frontend development experience using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, preferably Angular.

  • Experience developing and maintaining full stack applications in production environments.

  • Good working knowledge of relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Demonstrable experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day software development.

  • A sound understanding of software design, testing, debugging and maintainability.

  • Ability to work independently, solve technical challenges and take responsibility for delivery.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Comfortable working in a smaller team where priorities can change and initiative is valued.

  • Able to attend monthly in-person collaboration sessions in Tyger Waterfront, Cape Town.

Advantageous:

  • Experience with Ionic, Flutter or other mobile development frameworks.

  • Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps.

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of cloud-native application architectures.

  • Experience with payment gateway integrations, financial transactions or third-party APIs.

  • Previous exposure to fintech or health-tech environments.

  • Experience developing AI-assisted product features.
