The Role
This is a seat at the table, not just a desk in engineering. Our client, a well-established FinTech business known for its work in verification, credit scoring, and payment technology, is looking for someone to lead software development at executive level. You will own the strategy, shape the culture, and make sure delivery matches ambition.

Tech Environment
.NET Framework, C#, Docker, Angular, Flutter, Node.js, Java, SQL Server, Azure and AWS (AKS/EKS), Git/SVN/TFS.
What You Will Be Doing
- Taking full ownership of the software development lifecycle, from first idea to final deployment
- Leading, mentoring and growing a team of senior, intermediate and junior developers, plus QA and test resources
- Setting the technical direction and reviewing code to keep standards high
- Driving Agile and DevOps practices that actually work in the day to day
- Spotting risk early and making calm, informed calls before it becomes a problem
- Reporting into the CTO and working closely with QA, business analysts, implementation teams, clients and vendors
- Managing the QA function on an interim basis until that structure is settled
What You Will Need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar (NQF Level 7)
- At least 10 years managing .NET software development within Agile/Scrum environments
- At least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally at head of engineering, VP engineering or CTO level
- A solid background in fintech, banking or financial services
- The ability to think strategically and communicate with credibility at executive level
- Management or project management qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement
