Are you passionate about keeping events safe, compliant, and running seamlessly? Do you thrive in high-energy environments where no two days are the same? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Events and Venue Compliance Coordinator to join our dynamic team and support the safe delivery of events across our portfolio of venues.
Type: Permanent
Salary: R22 000 – R27 000
Area: Remote in SA
Key Responsibilities
Event & Venue Operations
- Coordinate event execution to meet client needs and legal standards.
- Work alongside senior duty managers to ensure safe, smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with licensing officers, emergency services, and stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation for venues and events.
Licensing & Legal Compliance
- Ensure all venues operate within UK Licensing Act 2003 regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date incident logs, training records, and compliance registers.
- Submit and track Temporary Event Notices (TENs) and required permissions.
Health & Safety / Risk Management
- Conduct venue inspections and risk assessments under H&S legislation.
- Implement procedures for fire safety, crowd control, and emergency evacuation.
- Oversee documentation for health & safety audits and equipment checks.
Team Management & Training
- Develop and coordinate training programmes (alcohol laws, first aid, fire safety, etc.).
- Monitor staff certifications (SIA, First Aid, etc.) and manage renewals.
Security & Incident Reporting
- Ensure timely reporting and secure logging of serious incidents across events.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in compliance or operational roles within licensed venues, nightlife, or event spaces.
- Solid understanding of UK licensing laws and health & safety regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and decision-making skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience liaising with local councils and regulatory bodies.
- Relevant qualifications in licensing, safety, or compliance.
