This isn’t your typical Finance Director role.
We’re looking for a seasoned finance leader with sharp commercial instincts and a strong background in the telecommunications or ISP industry. Someone who understands how to move the dial – not just count the numbers.
You’ll take the lead on financial strategy, pricing, and commercial operations for a high-performing tech and infrastructure business with a turnover of R2 billion. You’ll be the go-to partner for the MD and report into the Group CFO. If you enjoy strategic influence, high-impact decision-making, and leading a strong team, this one’s for you.

What you’ll be doing:
    • Own the financial direction of the business – short-term and long-term planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
    • Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, shaping decisions across finance, pricing, risk, and growth.
    • Lead and mentor a team of ~16 across Finance and Commercial, building capability and driving accountability.
    • Design and execute pricing strategies that support client growth, margin optimisation and deal velocity.
    • Get involved in commercial structuring for large deals, vendor negotiations, and client SLA discussions.
    • Support M&A and disposals, including financial modelling, due diligence, and integration work.
    • Oversee finance systems – guiding the transition from Oracle to SAP and ensuring quality reporting and analysis.
    • Maintain full compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements—locally and across Africa (no travel required).
    • Act as the bridge between Finance, Sales, and Delivery to support commercial outcomes and growth.
 
What we’re looking for:
    • Deep Telco / ISP / Infrastructure industry experience – non-negotiable.
    • A strategic thinker who can connect the numbers to the bigger picture.
    • Solid track record in pricing strategy, commercial modelling and contract negotiation.
    • Experience leading finance operations in a complex, high-growth environment.
    • Confident partnering with execs and influencing at board level.
    • Hands-on experience with financial planning, analysis, and risk management.
    • Exposure to system migrations (Oracle to SAP) would be ideal.
    • Africa experience (from a regulatory or operational perspective) would be a plus.
    • M&A exposure is a bonus.
    • CA(SA) not required – but strong financial acumen and leadership experience is.
