We’re looking for a strategic thinker to lead all things pricing and commercial costing. You’ll define how products are priced, what they’re worth in the market, and ensure the company remains competitive while still profitable. This role isn’t just about crunching numbers – it’s about building a forward-thinking commercial pricing engine that helps guide major business decisions. You’ll bring commercial intelligence into every discussion and help the business shape the future with data-backed pricing strategies.
 
Salary: R1.8m – R2.1m
Type: Hybrid – 3 days in office

What You’ll Be Doing
Strategy & Market Benchmarking
    • Lead the development of a future-fit product pricing strategy.
    • Benchmark against competitors and market trends to ensure pricing stays sharp and relevant.
    • Build models for multiple pricing and costing scenarios.
Product & Solutions Costing
    • Align product teams, finance, network operations, and commercial units around a unified pricing strategy.
    • Create and refine a comprehensive product and solutions costing framework.
Governance & Commercial Analysis
    • Own and implement the pricing governance framework.
    • Assess commercial viability of new products and ventures.
    • Guide margin analysis and profitability planning.
    • Advise business units with commercial insight, based on robust analysis.
Bids & Investment Cases
    • Manage the bid office: drive successful, timely responses to RFPs.
    • Create commercial investment cases to support new business opportunities.
Leadership & Influence
    • Lead a small, focused team – setting targets, providing coaching, and enabling growth.
    • Influence key strategic decisions through analytics and storytelling.
    • Play a leading role in shaping the broader business strategy alongside executive leadership.
 
What You Bring
Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years in a commercial, pricing, or financial role
    • At least 3 years at senior management or executive level
    • Experience working across cross-functional teams including sales, strategy, finance, and technical departments
Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or similar (NQF 7)
    • A postgrad degree or MBA is a strong advantage
Skills You’ll Need:
    • Deep commercial and financial acumen
    • Strong grasp of pricing models, cost structures, and competitive benchmarking
    • Proven experience with business case development and bid management
    • Sharp analytical thinking and data-driven decision making
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
 
Other Info
    • Must be willing to travel when needed
    • Flexibility required for after-hours strategy sessions or stakeholder meetings
    • Strong preference for candidates with exposure to the ICT or network infrastructure sectors
