Barracuda Product Manager – Driving Growth Through Distribution
This role is about leading the charge for Barracuda’s cybersecurity products within a distribution network. You’ll be the go-to expert for everything Barracuda, working closely with both internal teams and Barracuda themselves to achieve mutual success.
You must have a minimum 5 years of experience in a product management or channel management role within the IT, cybersecurity, or related tech industry, a strong track record of managing vendor-distributor relationships and exceeding sales targets, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity products and solutions.

Salary: R35 000 – R50 000 pm
Area: Onsite in Johannesburg
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape the future: Define and execute the Barracuda product strategy within the distribution network, ensuring it aligns with Barracuda’s goals and local market needs.
- Build the roadmap: Develop go-to-market plans for each product line, working closely with Barracuda’s sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Drive sales: Set and achieve ambitious sales targets for Barracuda products by creating and executing effective sales plans.
- Empower the team: Support sales teams in developing strategic account plans, and provide training and technical enablement to channel partners so they can confidently sell and support Barracuda products.
- Build relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with key channel partners to drive sales opportunities and ensure their success.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitor positioning. Use this knowledge to refine strategies, drive new initiatives, and support sales and marketing efforts.
- Be the voice of the market: Provide valuable feedback to Barracuda on market demands, customer feedback, and potential product improvements.
- Track and report: Maintain accurate records of all activities, sales forecasts, and partner engagement in CRM systems. Provide regular updates and reports on product performance, channel engagement, sales activities, and key wins.
- Manage resources: Track and manage budgets for product marketing activities, ensuring spend aligns with objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a product management or channel management role within the IT, cybersecurity, or related tech industry.
- Proven success: A strong track record of managing vendor-distributor relationships and exceeding sales targets.
- Cybersecurity expertise: A deep understanding of cybersecurity products and solutions.
- Matric with mathematics.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, IT, or related field.
- Relevant cybersecurity or IT certifications are advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and sales/marketing automation tools.
- Deep understanding of the IT market and its various segments.
