We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our team of two General Surgeons based in Rondebosch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support, ensuring smooth patient flow, and managing various administrative tasks.
Type: Permanent
Rate: R20 000 – R28 000 Depending on experience
Area: Rondebosch
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care and Administration:
- Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking accurate messages as needed.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient utilisation of the doctors’ time.
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and forms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Handle insurance claims and billing, including medical aid submissions and ICD coding.
- Theatre Bookings and Coordination:
- Coordinate and book theatre procedures with the hospital, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling.
- Liaise with hospital staff to confirm bookings and address any issues.
- Prepare patient files and documentation for theatre procedures.
- General Administrative Tasks:
- Manage inventory and stock levels for medical supplies and stationery.
- Assist with correspondence, including letters and emails.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in medical aid claims processing and ICD coding.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
